Skytanking signs aircraft refuelling service contract with Kuwait Aviation and Air France at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport

Hamburg,Thursday 14th May 2009: Skytanking has signed a contract to provide aircraft refuelling services on behalf of Société Air France and Kuwait Petroleum Aviation France at Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris from 1st July 2009.

Under the contract Skytanking will take over the operations and the staff of Kuwait Petroleum Aviation France, who currently act as the operator to AirFuel, a joint venture company set up by Air France and Kuwait. AirFuel provides into-plane fuelling services at the airport and currently has around 60 employees, refuelling more than a million tonnes/year of Jet A-1.

Air France and Kuwait selected Skytanking after a competitive tender that ranked bidders on price, the quality of their proposal and into-plane fuelling expertise.

This is Skytanking's first move into the aviation fuelling market in France and is a welcome addition to neighbouring Skytanking operations in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. With Roissy Charles De Gaulle, Skytanking is now active at 21 airports in Europe, USA and Asia.

Skytanking is a subsidiary of Marquard & Bahls AG of Germany, a leading independent petroleum company. Skytanking provides a full range of aviation fuelling services including building, owning and operating aviation fuel storage and hydrant facilities and providing into-plane services to airlines, airports and oil companies. In 2008, Skytanking handled more than 7 billion litres of Jet A-1 and refuelled 730,000 aircraft.
