Skytanking Starts Refuelling Operations in Hamburg
With this new location, Skytanking is active at 41 airports worldwide. The new operation marks another milestone in Skytanking’s development in recent years, as the city of Hamburg is also home to its corporate headquarters. Skytanking thereby expands its presence in the German market and now operates, along with Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart, at four out of the ten busiest airports in Germany.
The new operation at Hamburg is one more step towards the company’s goal of becoming the preferred partner globally for oil companies, airlines and airports that are looking for a specialized service provider in this industry.
Skytanking is a subsidiary of Marquard & Bahls AG, Germany, a leading independent petroleum company. Skytanking provides a full range of aviation fuelling services including building, owning and operating aviation fuel storage and hydrant facilities, and providing into-plane services to airlines, airports and oil companies. In 2013, Skytanking handled more than 16 billion litres of Jet A-1 and refuelled 1.7 million aircraft, almost three fuellings per minute. The company now operates at 41 airports in 11 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
