Skytanking Munich GmbH & Co KG has signed a 5-year contract with Flughafen München to operate the aviation fuel storage and hydrant system at Munich Airport.

The contract, starting in June 2024, was awarded to Skytanking Munich after an extensive international public tender process, which evaluated the bidders' technical competencies, HSSE standards and economic capabilities. Skytanking Munich has been successfully operating the fuel facilities at Munich Airport since 1999.

“This contract renewal is a confirmation of Skytanking’s ambition to become the preferred partner for airports, airlines and fuel companies that are looking for a high-quality service provider in aviation.”, Vice-President Northern Europe Christoph Lindke noted. “We very much appreciate Munich airport’s confidence in selecting Skytanking, recognizing the excellent service we have delivered in Munich and many other airport tankfarms around the world over the past decades.”

Munich International Airport is Germany's second busiest airport and ranks amongst the Top 10 in Europe in terms of passenger numbers. The fuel system managed by Skytanking is supplied via rail and pipeline and comprises 45,300 cbm of Jet A-1 storage and 17,300 meters of underground pipeline connecting the storage to more than 500 apron hydrant pits.
