Skytanking Starts its 50th Into-Plane Fuelling Operation at Frankfurt Airport
The new operation marks another milestone in Skytanking’s rapid development in recent years, as it is the 50th airport where Skytanking provides into-plane fuelling services to the aviation industry. Skytanking thereby expands its presence in the German market and now operates, along with Munich and Stuttgart, at three out of the ten busiest airports in Germany. Frankfurt Airport is the largest airport by passenger traffic in Germany, the third largest in Europe and the ninth largest worldwide.
The new operation at Frankfurt is one more step towards the company’s goal of becoming the preferred partner globally for oil companies, airlines and airports that are looking for a specialized service provider in this industry.
Skytanking is a subsidiary of Marquard & Bahls AG of Germany, a leading independent petroleum company. Skytanking provides a full range of aviation fuelling services including building, owning and operating aviation fuel storage and hydrant facilities and into-plane services to airlines, airports and oil companies. In 2011, Skytanking handled more than 15 billion litres of Jet A-1 and refuelled more than 1.5 million aircrafts, almost three fuellings per minute. The company now operates at 50 airports in 12 countries in Europe, the USA, Asia and Africa.
